Halton C-Card scheme helps to reduce unwanted teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases by coordinating free distribution of condoms and sexual health advice to 13 to 19yrs olds. The scheme works by recruiting agencies already engaging with young people to promote and register young people to the C-Card scheme.
HITS Personal Adviser Service for Care Leavers supports young people aged 16 to 21 years to fulfill their potential as inter-dependent members of the community, by providing individual support at a practical and emotional level. The Service is delivered in partnership with Halton Borough Council's Young People's Team.
HITS Young Carers service aims to minimise any negative impact of the caring role on the lives of young people aged 5 to 18 years, by providing appropriate support from HITS and through the involvement of other agencies. The Service is delivered in partnership with Halton Borough Council and other organisations which support young people.
HITS Self Harm Project aims to find out whether peer support group work is an effective intervention for young people who self harm, by undertaking research and piloting an evidence-based group work method. The Project is supported by the Primary Care Trust's Mental Health Team and School Nursing Service, and Barnardo's.
HITS Trading generates income for the organisation and adds value to its services, by providing training, undertaking research projects and initiating new services.
Grangeway Cafe Project aims to provide nourishing and economically priced meals for local people in the Grangeway area, and work and training opportunities for young people. Grangeway Cafe is a partnership between HITS, Halton YMCA, Connexions and Halton Borough Council.
